Courtesy visit on SEARO Regional Directo Date and time: November 5 (Thu.), 2008 14:00-15:00 Description:As this year’s WHO-FIC Network Meeting was held in New Delhi, India, a delegation paid a courtesy visit on WHO’s Regional Office for South-East Asia (SEARO) also located in New Delhi. The nine-member delegation, representing WHO, Japan (Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare), and the Japan Hospital Association (JHA), which serves as the Asia-Pacific Network Meeting’s Secretariat, met and talked with Dr. Samlee Plianbangchang, Regional Director of SEARO. The delegation gave a presentation on the Asia-Pacific Network’s activities and requested further cooperation with the region covered by SEARO. SEARO Regional Director Plianbangchang spoke about improvement in the quality of data on medical care, the importance of international comparison of data, and the need for countries to share information.
